College and Privilege

In preparation for watching Ivory Tower, write, and then discuss as a class:

What happens to a society when only the privileged can afford college?

Your answer must examine

• the role education (specifically college) plays in a successful democracy
• how a lack of education (or opportunity to learn) affects a society
• the obstacles that college applicants (the present you) and college graduates (the future you) face that make this a pressing issue
